The School Bag Project is initiated by Al Hima Islamic Services to support poor, orphaned, and needy students in Sri Lanka who are struggling to afford essential school supplies. This project directly addresses the high poverty rates, particularly within the Muslim community, where the lack of basic school items often hinders a child's educational continuity.
Your sponsorship ensures that a child can start the academic year with confidence, having all the necessary tools for success. This is a form of continuous educational charity (Sadaqah Jariyah).
Contents of a Single School Kit (Cost: $30 USD)
- School Bag: One high-quality school bag.
- Uniform Items: New school shoes and a pair of socks.
- Notebooks: A sufficient quantity of notebooks (160 and 80 pages).
- Set: Pens (blue, red, black), pencils, a pencil box, and a water bottle.
- Total Value: The complete kit is valued at 8,935 LKR (approx. 9 KD / $30 USD).
